Me Elsewhere: Kid's Haircuts

I'm chatting today about saving money on kid's haircuts over at my weekly Going Frugal post at Sisterly Savings.

Do you cut your children's hair? Are they older or still tiny? And if you pay to have someone else cut it, how do you find ways to save money on the cost?

Thanks for reading and subscribing to The New Frugal Mom!

My son's father cust his hair with clippers. DD#2 and myself go to SmartStyle in Super Walmart. DD#1 has decided that she wants to go to a salon. She pays for her own. For years I went without or colored my own hair. Now I have it done because I want to find a way to pamper myself every 2-3 months.

I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and I mostly cut their hair myself. Depending on the time of year, I'll just use a #3 or #4 guard and buzz their head. Sometimes I send them to a barber shop just to even things out and we found one that does kids cuts for $7.

I tried to cut my kids hair, I have no talent for it! Luckily the Great Clips here puts out coupons about every 6 weeks or so for a hair cut for $5.99.

I have 2 girls (5 and almost 4) and 1 boy (2). I tried to cut the girls but had no luck getting it straight. I do cut my ds and my dh. I am lucky that my dh is a little thin on top so I can just use the clippers and be done in a few minutes. My son on the other hand has to be wrapped up in a towel for his cut. When he was younger he had a mohawk. (He had a heart defect and had the mohawk until his heart surgery.)
