Knute and I have been married for almost fourteen years (I got married when I was fifteen --- JUST JOKING! -- I only wish I was still 29!) and have been together for almost seventeen years.

Since we met when we I was 18 and he was 19, we've been together nearly half our lives which is astonishing and remarkable and awe-inspiring and just plain fantastic.

Knute isn't his real name; I use blog names for him and our kiddos over here at my personal blog just to keep their names from becoming Google fodder. Knute is the nickname his dad gave him as a kid; since my father-in-law passed away ten years ago, I love using his nickname for my hubs as a way of keeping his legacy alive.

Knute is hands down the biggest blessing God has ever given me.

Without him and his steady presence in my life, I am certain I would not be the person I am today. I don't know just who I would be without him, but I know I wouldn't be my best self, the person who's just plain happy to be alive, to be here, and to have the chance to be part of this amazing family we've built.

Without Knute, I wouldn't have my three sweet blue-eyed kiddos who both test me and delight me daily.

Without Knute, I wouldn't have found my way back into the faith to which I was born.

And without Knute, I just wouldn't have as much fun every day on this earth. He makes me laugh, that goofy 6'4" football playing man of mine. He's made me laugh through the sunshine days and the dark days as well.

I know he'd say he got the better part of the bargain in marrying me - he's humble like that.

But I know that my life is fuller, richer, and holier because of him and because of our marriage. I'm so glad he moved heaven and earth to find a way to meet up with his roommate's girlfriend's high school friend (yours truly) one more time back in May of 1992.

Knute, I am blessed by you daily. I love you.

I hope you feel blessed in your life this week in small ways as well as big ones.

If you'd like to post your own Blessed Am I post and link it back here, please do.

Shout out what's good in your life!
