If you've been reading this blog for any length of time, you know by now that I am an unabashed and enthusiastic Kroger nut fan.

Kroger-baby, you had me at unlimited doubled coupons. ;-)

Over the last year or so, I've had some great opportunities to work with the Kroger Company as they build their social media presence...all because of this little blog. Each time I get to attend a Kroger blogger event or interact with the marketing teams, I come away even more impressed by the level of commitment Kroger has to their customers and their community.

The last one I attended was a sneak preview of the Kroger Marketplace in Harrison.  We were invited out to tour the store on the evening of St. Patrick's Day and it sure was a fun night with a bunch of rocking local bloggers (holla, girls!) and the Kroger Co Interactive Marketing team (thanks again!).

Hot off the presses - last year's Design a Reusable Bag Contest winner!

As we were leaving the Harrison Marketplace event, all the bloggers received one of those bags above filled with easy recipes, some of the ingredients and a Kroger GC.

But check out that bag - cool, huh?

And it really was designed by a Kroger (or one of the 14 stores under the Kroger banner) customer last year.  SUPER cool!

Now that Earth Day is just around the corner (April 22), Kroger (and the 14 stores under their banner) is offering the same Design a Reusable Bag contest again.  So of course I had to hop over to the design site and get my ideas on canvas...literally!

I don't  know if my design is good enough to win the $1000 cash top prize or any of the $250 or $100 gift card prizes for the runners up and finalists, but I gave it a go.  I'll add the voting link for my design once it's approved.  I was also able to order my design on a reusable bag on Cafe Press this year so even if I don't win, I'll have my very own super-awesome bag.  ;-)

Kroger has stepped up big time to supporting reusable bags.  In 2009, Kroger and it's family of stores sold an average of 13,000 reusable bags a DAY.  Whew!  And don't forget that Kroger offers a $0.03 discount on your shopping total for every reusable bag you have at checkout - it's an easy way to save money while being a good steward of our environment.

Onto the giveaway!

I've been graciously given a (1) $25 Cafe Press gift code to give away to one lucky winner so they can buy their own personally designed bag, too!

How to enter:

Visit the Design a Reusable Bag site and design your own reusable bag, then come back here and leave a comment. Remember, your store loyalty card will be credited with an eCoupon for a FREE reusable shopping bag to pick up in-store (retail $0.99) once you submit your design so you'll get a FREE bag no matter what - sweet!
