Wondering what's the deal with my weekly Let's Go Krogering! (LGK!) posts?

Oh my, I am LOVING Kroger this week!  So much so that I've already made (3) trips in (2) days to get the best deals.  ;-)

I'm looking forward to rocking the Frozen Food Mega Event Sale next week - remember, this sale event runs from 1/10/11-1/23/11 so you have plenty of time to organize your coupons and get all the unadvertised deals.

Are you ready for some coupon shock and awe?!!  ;-)  Here we go!

Kroger Coffee Creamer, Holiday Flavors, $0.79 ea (Manager Special)

While I was over at the dairy case, I noticed that there were rows and rows of holiday-themed coffee creamers marked down as Manager Specials, including Kroger brand as well as Coffee-Mate brand.  My java-loving heart did a quick flip!  I did a quick search of my fave coupon database when I got home and sure enough, there are some Coffee-Mate coupons out there that you'll want to have on hand when you head to your Kroger just in case you find these, too.

My last Kroger trip on Monday 1/10/11 (on my way to book club that night):

Spent: $0.00
Saved: $1.98 (100%!)

Coffee-Mate Holiday Creamers, $0.99 (Manager Special)

My totals at Kroger for this week:

Pretty good considering I didn't even buy any of the FF Mega Event items!  ;-)

I'm on my way to Kroger now, with my fistful of coupons. I'm anxious to see the results of my first carefully-planned shopping trip :) Thanks a million, you're a rock star!

@Anon - Yay! Glad someone else got that deal, too.

@SSMom - You should have an easy trip; with the snow today, Kroger will prolly be pretty quiet. Let me know how you do!

How do you get the Kroger My Magazine?? I have never seen this, but have often heard it referenced....

@Anon: This is one of those "great corporate mysteries', lol! It's a good question - how do you get the Kroger My Magazine mailers (which come about every 3-4 weeks and are filled with articles, recipes, and coupons)?

I've actually had the chance to ask this question of some of the Kroger Interactive Marketing Team members during past campaigns/events I've done with Kroger. Their answer is this: it is not something you can sign up for; the My Magazine mailers are sent to an identified/select group of Kroger Card users.

As to how they select/identify those users that receive these mailers, I cannot speak to that. My *guess* is that it's some combination of loyalty card usage data and marketing campaigns.

If anyone from Kroger Corporate would like to chime in and add to this discussion, please do! The My Magazine question pops up in my comments/email every month or two. ;-)

You were right, Marianne, Kroger was very quiet Tuesday morning. But I did get the Coffee Mate deal w/coupon, and overall I did well, I think. I spent $131.75 and saved $52.34 in yellow tags/coupons, a total savings of 28%. Not bad for a first try :) Next time will be even better.

I also found a deal today...Shell gas stations are affiliated w/Kroger, and I bought gas today at the station at Montgomery Rd (by Kenwood Mall) and 71. If you take your Shell gas receipt to Kroger and show it to the cashier, you get double points toward gas discounts! This is supposed to be good till the end of the month. YMMV depending on location, but there aren't any restrictions listed on the receipt, it just says "at participating Kroger stores." Gas prices are getting up there again so anywhere you can save a few bucks helps.
