Let's Go Krogering! | Week of July 25, 2011 {10/$10 Sale Event: FREE Crest Toothpaste & Oral B Indicator + Cheap Pilsbury Brownie Mix & Softsoap}

Wondering what's the deal with my weekly Let's Go Krogering! (LGK!) posts?
 Click here for more information.

My Kroger Trip, Monday, July 25, 2011:

Spent: $10.42
Saved: $22.28 (68%)

Kroger has a 10/$10 Sale featured in their ad this week. Remember - you do NOT need to buy 10 items to get the $1.00 per item price; no matter what quantity you buy, the participating sale items will cost $1.00. The "10/$10" phrasing is simply sales promotion/advertising.

I only purchased a few things this week; we are well stocked up here after the just-ended Mega Sale Event. I was happy to see more free toothpaste and toothbrushes in this week's sale (after the doubled MFR coupon) because I like to add these items to my donation bag for our local food pantry.

I actually did my Krogering early on Monday morning with my kiddos; we headed across the street to our town's Aldi as well where I spent about $33. I also took advantage of the current 10/$10, 11th Item FREE sale this week at Meijer on Monday afternoon where I spent $12.69 (and saved $37.90 - WOOT!). With a grand total of $56 for the week (and $62.18 saved), I'm well under my summer budget of $100/week. {Finally!} Whew!

Here's the deals I grabbed at Kroger on July 25 2011:

Let's Go Krogering! | Week of July 18, 2011 {Mega Sale Event Continues!}

Wondering what's the deal with my weekly Let's Go Krogering! (LGK!) posts?
 Click here for more information.

My Kroger Trip, Monday, July 18, 2011:

{No picture! I had lots of help from my kiddos with bringing in the groceries; they were so sweet and enthusiastic that I just let them put the stuff away rather than stopping them for a photo shoot. ;-) }

Spent: $32.92
Saved: $90.10 (73% - WOOT!)

This week at Kroger, the Mega Event sale continues: buy 10 participating items, get $5.00 off at checkout.   This new Mega Event sale runs through Sunday, 7/24/11 and the list of participating items is HUGE:

I took advantage of this stockpiling opportunity this week and stocked up on several items that will last through the summer and beyond in my household. Be sure you check through your coupon stash for the best deals (see here, here, and here for the best matchups); don't forget you can also order additional coupons for specific items as an excellent way to save big while stockpiling.

I did my Krogering on Monday evening which has worked well for me this summer. I also hit Aldi and spent about $36 there bringing my total for the week to about $70. Since my weekly grocery spending has averaged above $130 for the summer months (serious ouch!), it was nice to have a lower total this week.

CLIP | Sunday Coupon Preview 07/17/11 {1 Inserts: 1 SS}

It's that time of the week - time to look ahead at the anticipated Sunday insert coupons so you can start planning for next week's store deals.

It's always useful to know how many coupon inserts to expect each Sunday and even more useful to know which coupons you'll find in those inserts so you can decide as early as possible if it's a good week to order coupons from a clipping service.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This Sunday, 07/17/11, there will be (1) insert in the Sunday newspapers - 1 SS.

Remember, coupons can and do vary by product/brand and vary by value depending upon geographic regions in the USA.

Be sure to check the Insert Schedule for 2011 to look ahead at the upcoming weekends if you haven't already; make a note on your calendar which weekends extra inserts are expected so you can plan ahead to grab extra papers.

Here are some of the upcoming coupons that look good to me:

Smart Source (SS)

$1.50/1 Excedrin 80+ ct

$0.50/3 Kleenex Boxes or (1) 3ct bundle pack *(Current Kroger Mega Sale item)*

$7.00/2 Prevacid 42ct

$3.00/2 Starbucks 11, 12, or 20 oz packaged coffee

For the full list of upcoming insert coupons, be sure to check out this post at Sunday Coupon Preview.

Let's Go Krogering! | Week of July 11, 2011 {*HOT!* New Mega Event - $5/10 Participating Items; ends 7/24/11!}

Wondering what's the deal with my weekly Let's Go Krogering! (LGK!) posts?
 Click here for more information.

My Kroger Trip, Monday, July 11, 2011:

Spent: $38.74
Saved: $66.04 (63%)

This week at Kroger features a brand new Mega Event sale: buy 10 participating items, get $5.00 off at checkout.   This new Mega Event sale runs through Sunday, 7/24/11 and the list of participating items is HUGE - see?

Be sure to check in-store for this little postcard-sized flyer of participating items.  I found mine back by the dairy case on a display board; the Customer Service desk usually has them, too.

This is a *stellar* stockpiling opportunity so be sure to spend some time checking through your coupon stash for the best deals (see here, here, and here for the best matchups); don't forget you can also order additional coupons for specific items as an excellent way to save big while stockpiling.

I once again hit Kroger late Monday evening after book club (shout out to my friend Lynn for the great conversation about books, life, faith, mothering, and writing) and it was once again an ever.so.peaceful shopping experience without my tribe of kiddos.

I also made a stop at Aldi on Monday for produce, eggs, milk, pantry items. I spent about $46 at Aldi bringing my total for the week to just about $100 once again this week when I tally in a quick run to Kroger on Sunday morning for donuts, bagels, and a few deals that were ending last week (I spent $17.57 and saved $16.93).
