Main Street Market Trip 9/4/11
Spent: $42.93
Saved: $106.40 (72%)

Because it's a long holiday weekend (which means a chance to rest and recharge my batteries), I hemmed and hawed about heading over to the Main Street Market nearest me to shop during the triple coupon event that's going on through end of day Monday, September 5, 2011.

But...since I'm up early whether it's a weekend or not and since I had a number of really good coupons for items that would be good to stockpile in my pantry and freezer for the coming month or so, I decided to go early this morning before Mass.

Early early.

Early, like be-there-when-they-unlock-the-doors early.

Coffee & Clicks | September 3, 2011 {Edition #21: Back to School Edition}

Welcome to Coffee & Clicks, my weekly roundup of posts from my Google Reader and beyond that caught my eye, that made me think, and that just made me laugh.

Coffee & Clicks is my way of sharing those interesting posts with you.  If you find yourself with a few minutes of leisure to surf on the weekends while you sip your coffee (or whatever fills your mug), feel free to wander through this list of posts and spend some time reading, reflecting, and relaxing.

++++++++++++++++++++
For those of us with school-aged children, the first day of school has finally arrived during the past week or so (yay!). Or maybe this long holiday weekend is the last of summer for your bunch; this coming Tuesday is circled in red on your calendar.

Back to school season is a great time to organize and streamline some of the hot spots in your home. Here are a sampling of posts from around the blogosphere to spark your imagination and inspire your creativity:

:: I saw this Scrabble Tile Magnet craft idea (originally posted by Oh Crafts) highlighted by Erin, the $5 Dinner Mom. I LOVE this idea, not just as a means of posting weekly meal plans, but as a way to make custom magnets for all those important papers, tests, and works of fine art that are brought home in my kiddos backpacks. Show it off on the fridge with a Scrabble Monogram magnet!

:: Need help just getting motivated to start getting organized? Laura of OrgJunkie has a list of 10 Things to Do Everyday to Stay Organized posted at Organizing Your Way. Just like when we learn any new skill, learning how to get and stay organized is essentially adopting a new habit; you have to give yourself a few weeks of "practice" for that habit to take root. Side note: if you're looking for an excellent online family calendar, I highly recommend Cozi - it's free, you can add the app to your iPhone for FREE, and it is ever.so.USEFUL!

:: I love this roundup of Get Organized for School (8 DIY Ideas) over at TipJunkie; the photos alone are inspiring! Tip #2 really caught my eye as my own kitchen command center is in need of a serious overhaul after a summer of neglect!

:: And just for fun, I loved this idea from Amy at The Motherload on how to make Close to My Heart Flower Pins for your littlest ones heading off to preschool or kindergarten for the first time. This is a great idea even for your older girls as Amy shows you how to turn those cute flower pins into one-of-a-kind hair clips. Loverly!

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

HOT! | Marsh Supermarket AND Main Street Supermarket TRIPLE Coupon Days, Sept 2-5, 2011!

If you're a couponer that hails from Indiana, it's a great weekend to clip & save because Marsh Supermarkets are once again running their Triple Coupon Event from 9/2/11-9/5/11!

For those of my readers in Ohio, the two Marsh Supermarket locations in Ohio (Middletown and Eaton) are participating as well (I confirmed via phone).

AND - the big news for my fellow Buckeye readers - ALL of the Main Street Supermarket locations (Franklin, Cincinnati, Hamiliton, Fairfield, Union City, Troy, and Van Wert) are ALSO participating! (I confirmed via phone this morning.)

As always, it's a good idea to call your local store in advance to confirm they are truly participating and check their store hours before you make the trip.  I also advise asking if they anticipate to receive any trucks during the sale event dates so you know whether or not the shelves will be restocked (and when!).

Here's the scoop:

:: Only MFR coupons valued at $0.99 or less will triple; coupons valued $1.00 or more will redeem at face value.

:: Must present your shopper loyalty card; if you don't have a shopper loyalty card, you can sign up for one at customer service.

:: Only (2) identical coupons per (2) identical items per transaction.

:: No rainchecks.

For some of the best coupon matchups for this TRIPLE coupon event, be sure to check out this post.

Many thanks to Bargain Briana for the heads up on this great deal!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This Sunday, 09/04/11, there will be NO inserts in the Sunday newspapers.

:: Get your current coupons cleaned out and organized so you're ready to save big!

Need help with learning to coupon or with keeping your coupons organized?  Check out these posts for some ideas on how to get started:
